What’s so sad about this entire episode is how transparently planned out the whole thing is (at least as I see it). They were hoping the appeals process would last long enough, and that he wouldn’t have to stay in prison until the appeals were over, so that Bush could just sweep the whole thing away just before leaving office. Now that he was going to have to go to jail, of course the sentence got commuted, but NOT PARDONED, well, not pardoned until January of 2009 anyway.
And what is the bullshit bill of goods we’re being sold that he still faces the stiff fine of 250K, (which is about a half-second of Haliburton’s profits)…and that he still has a felony on his record so employment will be an issue? I don’t really see this guy putting his resume up on Monster.com…something tells me he will somehow land on his feet.
This administration isn’t even trying anymore. I could have written on a piece of paper about 2 minutes after Scooter was sentenced how this would go down. I have really come to expect nothing less from the men in charge.
and I must ask, who are you?
who am I? Greg’s soon to be little missus
Welcome!
