Exercise can make you smarter. An article in the New York Times describes research that found mice that exercised were smarter. Also elderly people who exercised (versus those that just stretched), had new linkages between neurons forming in their brains.
Other things that increase neuron linkages - marijuana, chocolate, sociability, moderate amounts of alcohol and black tea.
Things that decrease the brain’s ability to produce new neurons - stress, saturated fat and sugar and heavy drinking.
Pretty interesting…

hahahaah. I just logged into this today specifically to post this article. I love articles like this, as they completely justify my lifestyle: exercise, moderate drinking (no really), little tokin’, little chocolate and some social time.
What else is there to do really? Well they didn’t say anything about music. If they stuck those mice in front of some reality tv shows I’m sure it would erase all of their forward progress.
