it seems like this guy missed the point on a few of these songs. the battle of evermore? really? conservative? really? no, but, really? i guess, but come on…
Sure he missed the point. Hitching his talking points to a popular manifestation that isn’t even there.
It’s sort of tragic that a once-complex and nuanced political approach can in its present version be boiled down to get off my property, stop killing those babies, damn those commies (gee we sure did kick their ass ’cause we were RIGHT, by God), don’t tell me I can’t have guns, grow up and get a haircut, and quit taxing me. It’s all framed in the negative now. It’s become a defensive ideology, though anything based on general social justice isn’t taking the offensive, unfortunately. If you’ve dug in a defensive position, dug in to the infrastructure after eight years of presidential appointments and constitutional erosion, then you can simply overturn most vehicles of positive momentum like an IED on a dusty desert street.
