I heart Malcom Gladwell.

Here is a pretty scathing review from a software developer/blogger that I have been reading for years. He has a reasonably strong following and is usually insightful.

Ha! Yes! I am infinitely annoyed by both Gladwell and Friedman for the same reasons. I think Trev can attest that I have long held these opinions and am not just copying the author of the article to which bstop linked.
This post has nothing to do about Gladwell…but is instead about many-linked post…
Thanks for the Dylan-Cash tracks…at times it’s really good (Blue Yodel) and at other times like a train wreck (Ring of Fire). No one should ever try to duet with Dylan…his timing is completely off it’s amusing…
I’m intrigued about the Auerbach’s solo disc. Seriously…why solo…not like you’re going to leave the “band” behind…
Speaking of Auerbach…he produced? Jessica Lea Mayfield’s album. Really good…especially if you’re not one prone to Hill Country style blues. Haunting at times, but never strays too far from the her origins…
Thanks for the JLM tip. I’ll look into her.
As for the solo album, I dunno. I agree that he could easily and perhaps should take Pat with him, but I don’t think he can do anything much diff sonically and still be The Black Keys. I know I am resistant to the newest disc because it has other performers on it, and I’m afraid he has to break with the name or else remain very, very true to the Black Keys sound.
Btw, they have a live dvd out now.
Dig the JLM. She’s so young, it’s weird to hear her sing with so much life experience.
In other music news, for a few days you can stream Neil Young “Sugar Mountain Live at Canterbury House 1968.” It’s lovely.
